PORTADA-FESTIVAL-ARROZ-CON-LECHE-CABRANES-MAYO-2017

Next Sunday 14th of May we are meeting in Santolaya de Cabranes to enjoy some delicious and traditional “arroz con leche” the typical Asturian rice pudding. As every year, the picturesque village of Santolaya de Cabranes is hosting this festival. This year it is the XXXVIII Rice Pudding Festival.

We will meet in the Plaza del Emigrante in Santolaya de Cabranes at 11. On that day parking is not permitted in the town but Protección Civil will habilitate an alternative parking space, possibly in the Museo de la Escuela Rural or an industrial state nearby (unfortunately this is unknown at the moment but it will be sign posted on the day), there will be busses from the parking space into the town.

We are planning to visit the traditional crafts and food market which takes place in the neighbouring streets to the Plaza del Emigrante and opens from 11.00 to 15.00. There we can try arroz con leche, listen to some traditional bagpipes music and enjoy the crafts and enjoy the party atmosphere. We will bring our own picnic food or we can buy food from the food stands. We will eat it in the square.
