Family Day Out at Bueño

museum horreo

Come and join us on a cultural day out and a picnic in Bueño, Ribera de Arriba.

Bueño is only 10 minutes away from Oviedo and it has been awarded as Pueblo Ejemplar (exemplary village) in 2012 as part of the Principe de Asturias’ awards. The village is known as the Asturian hórreo(corncrib) Paradise.

We will meet at the Museum Entrance at 11 am. Its Centro de Interpretación del Hórreo is the perfect setting for learning the magic world of the Asturian ‘hórreo’: its origin and evolution, the different types and the secret of its longevity and functionality. The displays and guides are full of information but also enjoyable and educational. Special attention is given to children.

We have arranged a guided tour for our group (from11:15am to 12:15am approximately) so we need to know how many people will be interested in attending . Please email us  (iwc.asturias@gmail.com) to let us know how many (adults/children and their ages -children-) will be coming  before Thursday, 7th May.

After, we will picnic at the  ‘area recreativa’ Llosalin. It has a large parking area, playgrounds, natural environment with trees and very nearby river. It also has picnic tables, grills and shaded areas (although, in this occasion, we plan to take our own food and drinks).

We plan to end the day with a walk around Bueño to enjoy its many ‘horreos’ and beauty.

All children must be accompanied by his/hers parent(s)/ guardian(s) or adult responsible. IWC Asturias is not responsible for the guard and/or safety of any child left unattended.

Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, warm clothes and a raincoat in case it rains a little bit. In adverse weather conditions, the day out will be canceled. We will keep you updated by FB and email.
